The simple answer is that scrap metal yards are any place that will allow you to trade in bulk amounts of various metals for cash. The basic idea is that you gather a bunch of metal, bring it to your local scrap yard, where they will weigh it and pay you for junk. The best part is that you really don’t need to know much about metals or the scrap industry to get started, most scrap yards can help you sort the metals you have, and while you may not get the best price, you’ll still go home with money in your pocket.
